The Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Phase 1 is a four lane 30km expressway that will pass through the municipalities of La Paz in Tarlac and Zaragoza and Aliaga in Nueva Ecija. It will cut the travel time between the cities of Tarlac and Cabanatuan by more than half.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with head Mark Villar steamline the project as it will cut the travel time between Tarlac and Cabanatuan from 70minutes to just 20minutes.
The project is expected to decongest the traffic in Daang Maharlika by 48% according to DPWH. An estimate of 11,200 motorist will use the new route daily that will serve as alternate route between the two province.
The whole Central Luzon Link Expressway has a total of four phases with the 1st phase has a budget of P1.603 billion covering the four lanes way, an underpass bridge and two farm passages.
“This project will decongest Daang Maharlika by 48 percent by serving as an alternate route to and fro the two cities. Aside from that, we expect the project to promote more livelihood opportunities in Region 3 that will further contribute in reducing traffic in Metro Manila,” according to Villar.
The Central Luzon Link Expressway is part of the “Build, Build, Build” program of the current administration that will help to promote tourism growth and will boost economy specially in central Luzon. (Photos from DPWH)
