Huawei Officially Introduced Its Own Operating System Called Harmony OS
Huawei offcially announced its own amd new operating system called HarmonyOS during the Huawei Developer’s Conference in China. CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu had introduced the HarmonyOS to the audience.
“We’re entering a day and age where people expect a holistic intelligent experience across all devices and scenarios. To support this, we felt it was important to have an operating system with improved cross-platform capabilities. We needed an OS that supports all scenarios, that can be used across a broad range of devices and platforms, and that can meet consumer demand for low latency and strong security.” Yu said.
The operating system has four distinct technical features: 1.Seamless experience across devices
2.Smooth performance due to deterministic latency engine and high-performance IPC
3. Secure microkernel architecture 4. Multi-device IDE that allows apps to be developed only once and deployed across multiple devices.
Richard Yu claimed that HarmonyOS can replace Android but for now the company will stick to Google's software on its smartphones for the sake of users.
Huawei stated that the HarmonyOS is open source and that it is readily deployable for smartphones. The Huawei Mate 30 lite is reported to be the first smartphone to use HarmonyOS.
