Contract electronics manufacturer Inventec Corp to invest NT$4.8 billion that will expand its local production facilities in Taiwan and would create at least 1,526 jobs, according to Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Inventec’s application to join a government plan to boost investments in Taiwan already approved. The company plans to move all of its operations of US-bound laptops to Taiwan to avoid US tariffs.
It will relocate some of its production lines from Sichuan Province of China to its manufacturing site in Daxi District in Taoyuan.
Apart from Inventec’s production line, it will also move some of its server production lines from Shanghai to its another plant in Gueishan District which is also in Taoyuan.
