Three Filipino high school students coming from the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas won a total of 19 gold medals at World Scholar’s Cup held at Yale University in Connecticut, United States.
Category of the tournament is literature and debate competition where the team of Yvette Frances Ortega, Kielle Imrei Tria, and Mark Joshua Noche bags in a total 19 gold medals, the team alao won a silver-medal finish in the Team Writing and Scholar’s bowl.

“Ang pinakagusto ko po siguro is the speaking po. I really love expressing my thoughts, to express myself and be able to convince other people know my side my perspective through my eyes,” said Ortega in a interview with ABS-CBN.
The group bags a total of 19 medals with Ortega who won two gold and two silver medals, Tria with six gold and five silver medals and Noche with one gold and three silver medals.

“Representing my country is really a pressure that’s for sure, but it’s really an honor to represent the country, not just the institution,” Tria said.
"Overwhelming. It is one one of the best feeling you could possibly have as a student especially my grade, Grade 10, junior high school, it’s one of the best experiences that every student should be able to experience,” Noche said.
