Scammers use cunning ploys to cheat the money of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in Taiwan. Manila Economic & Cultural Office (MECO) give advised and warning to all OFW in regarding remittance scams.
Scammers love money transfers, since there’s no way to refund or stop the transaction nor to trace the money, especially since the scammer can pick up funds from any number of transaction.

Earlier this month, three major Taiwanese together with Filipinos who are groups of scammers have allegedly swindled NT$24 million from Filipino workers in Taiwan.
Police authorities encouraged Filipino workers in Taiwan to use banks and reputable financial organizations when sending their salaries back home.
