Filipinos groups in Taiwan mainly in Heinchu County are holding a year-end battle of the bands competition which were composed of overseas Filipino workers groups, reported by Central News Agency.
Winter Slam Battle of the Bands will be this coming December 15, 2019 and will be held at Fengshan Community Activity Center in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County.
There will be seven competing Filipino bands and will perform for 15 minutes each.
"One main reason we are holding this event is to give Filipino bands a stage and to help them find exposure," said Allan Viray, co-organizer of the event.
A cash prize of NT$10,000 for the top winner and NT$7,000 and NT$5,000, respectively for the runner up winners.
Additionally, the proceeds from the event will be donated to Angelito Victoriano Penuaga, a Filipino worker in Tainan who was hospitalized due to series of strokes.
