Winter officially eneters Taiwan and is known to a term as "Lidong", is a a traditional East Asian term which means "first day of winter".
Last November 7 is the the first day of winter on the lunisolar calendar and it is a time when Taiwanese traditionally prepare for the cold and soggy winter in Taiwan.
According to Central Weather Bureau, a cooling trend will hit the country caused by cold air brought by a northeast monsoon, with temperatures dropping down to as low as 16 degrees.
In the lunisolar calendar, Lidong starts when the sun reaches celestial longitude 225° and comes to an end when the sun hits 240° longitude.
