A tropical depression forming in the east of the Philippines was upgraded to Tropical Storm Fung-Wong, it is expected to bring rain showers to Taiwan by weekend, according to report of Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Tropical storm Fung Wong or tropical storm Sarah in the Philippines is seen to intensify as it nears the northeastern Philippines and southern Taiwan.
CWB forecast rain showers in the northern and eastern Taiwan starting Thursday (Nov 21) with a chance of heavy rain in the northeast part of the country. The storm will be closest to Taiwan on Friday and Saturday.
A possibility of issuing a sea warning as the storm nears. The storm is moving in a northwest direction with a speed of 28 kilometers per hour.
