Her administration has already built a solid foundation to better safeguard Taiwan, but the process requires more time, with re-election she promise to bolster more of it.
Tsai Ing-wen will be gunning her second term under the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) with Premier Lai Ching-te as her running mate.

Both officials with other candidates already completed their registration at the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The main challenger for presidency is opposition Kuomintang's Han Kuo-yu, the current mayor of Kaohsiung. Election day is slated at January 11, 2020.
