Short distance passengers will benefit to the "Double 10” bus fare scheme that will be implemented in Taichung starting next year where it is free to ride a bus for the first 10km.
It is now "Taiwan’s most favorable bus fare scheme” as the free 10km bus ride will start to roll out starting next year, announced by Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen at a city council meeting.
The first 10km will be free of charge but for the next 10km the passengers will only pay a maximum of NT$10 for long distance commuters. This policy will take effect starting next year.
The free bus fare is scheme is for everyone according to the mayor as it will also boost tourism in Taichung.
Daily passengers specially workers and students will benefit in the new policy, visitor and tourist in Taichung will surely enjoy it.
