Taiwan’s iconic tower, Taipei 101 marking the entrance of every New Year and is one of the most extravagant fireworks display and light show in the country.
Before the fireworks spectacle, Taipei opens the annual New Year's eve party which will start at 06:30pm up to 01:00am of January 1 which will be held at Taipei City Hall Square.
The party will be hosted by Lulu and Mickey with performances from popular Taiwanese celebrities like Super Junior, Leo Wang, Seven Fat, Mayday, Jia jia, Arrow Wei and many more.
At Taipei’s 101 building when the countdown enters the final stage, the building itself lights up floor by floor from the bottom up for the New Year’s countdown, making Taipei 101 the biggest New Year’s Eve countdown clock in the world.
Taipei New Year’s Eve celebration attracts more people as the evening goes deeper. Cold snaps and rain wont stop the people filling the road for the party and for the fireworks display.
The Taipei city government, that runs the event, has made the concept of turning Taipei city into “New Year City,” the creative axis of the event.
