Taiwan government has strict rules regarding the bringing of pork products that sees a total of 678 violators are fined Where inbound travelers paid a total US$4.5 million penalty, Taiwan's state run news agency reported.
678 violators are listed where 354 were Chinese passengers and 233 were Taiwanese. Other fined were 32 Vietnamese, 12 Koreans and 11 Filipinos.

Between Aug. 27, 2018 and Jan. 2, 2020, 216 of a total of 2,844 samples of pork products that were illegally brought into Taiwan.
The agency always reiterates that first-time offenders illegally importing meat products from areas affected by ASF are fined NT$200,000 and NT$1 million for repeat offenders.
