Taichung City was shocked to report that a man returned from Wuhan, the ground zero of the killer coronavirus was seen walking around in Xitun District causing panic to people.
In response, the Taichung Municipal Government Bureau stated that the Mayor immediately assigned the Health Bureau and the Civil Affairs Bureau (District Office) to form an inter-departmental inspection team after receiving the report.
The Health Bureau also informed the case and family members that they need to be quarantined at home for 14 days. They also need to report when they go out.
The Health Bureau emphasizes that during the epidemic prevention period, if a case fails to comply with the regulations, it will violate Article 58 of the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Law" and will pay the penalty.
