Train tickets on Taiwan's west line already sold out for Chinese New Year; expect severe traffic

Train tickets for its Western Line for the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) have just about sold out. Almost 22,000 train tickets had already been purchased for the coming holiday.

The Taiwan Railways Administration reminds buyers that they have two days to pay for and collect their tickets. If they are not claimed by the deadline, the tickets will be put back on sale.

Taiwan's celebration for the Chinese New Year is slated from January 23 to 29, 2020. Expect lots of people will travel around Taiwan during these dates.

Traffic on Taiwan's freeways during the Lunar New Year holiday this month will be more congested than in previous years, particularly on the roads in eastern parts of the country where an upgraded highway is about to open,  as reported by CNA.
