Taiwan-based backend houses including Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), King Yuan Electronics (KYEC) and Siliconware Precision (SPIL) have instructed their employees not to make non-essential business travels to China.
This instructions are part of their precautions to mitigate impacts of the coronavirus outbreak in China according to industry sources.
ASE has set up an emergency handling center to monitor resources allocations for its plants which see all of its plants in China must conduct daily disinfection, SPIL also doing the same thing.
KYEC subsidiaries Jinglong Technology and Zhen Kun Technology, both located in Suzhou, China, will not resume operations until February 10.
