Taoyuan International Airport's electronic gates or E-Gate service has been temporarily closed to foreign visitors of Taiwan, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) announced.

The National Immigration Agency (NIA) announced all foreign nationals arriving at Taiwan's airports will need to see an immigration officer for detailed checking and better screening of passengers.
The suspension of service also applies to Taiwan's foreign residents who hold Alien Residence Certificates (ARC).
Immigration officers will be investigating the foreign passenger's travel history. Any foreign citizen who has visited China, Hong Kong and Macau over the previous 14 days cannot enter Taiwan.
