A railway accident in Yangmei District in Taoyuan that killed one trespassing pedestrian early Wednesday has affected more than 10,000 commuters, according to the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA).
The fatal accident, which occurred at 5:50 a.m. on the northbound track between Fugang and Yangmei, led to delays of 33 trains after the track was closed, leaving only one track for traffic on the busy western rail line, the TRA said.
