The epidemic of novel coronavirus or COVID-19 has continued to spread, and the stock of masks in Taiwan has been insufficient.
The Hon Hai Group decided to set up a mask production line in Tucheng District, New Taipei City, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month and can be produced in early March.
In this regard, New Taipei local government came forward to confirm that the city gave its full support.
New Taipei City Economic Development Bureau, confirmed on Feb 17th the Hon Hai Group will set up a mask factory in Tucheng. The municipal government encourages some companies to switch to mask factories if they have idle clean rooms.
The local government confirmed that there was contact with Hon Hai Group and that the production line is now under construction.
The Hon Hai Group also stated that it had approached the raw material manufacturers, and thanked the New Taipei City Government for its assistance. It is understood that Hon Hai is expected to set up 10 production lines with a daily output of 100,000 masks per line, which is equivalent to the production of 1 million masks per day.
