32-year-old Pinay domestic worker in Hong Kong had tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed by the Philippine Consulate General there.
The Filipina is the 61st confirmed coronavirus case in the Chinese special administrative region.
The virus is transmitted to the Pinay worker since she is working for her employer whom is the 52nd person to have been infected by the virus in the city.
The Filipina had a negative result to a test for the virus last Friday but a positive result on Monday, Chuang Shuk-kwan, director of the Centre’s Communicable Disease Division, said in a Hong Kong media briefing.
The Pinay OFW is now in stable condition according to the doctor. She is the first maid to be infected in Hong Kong since the epidemic emerged in the city late last month.
