Taiwanese researchers have successfully extracted a sample of the novel coronavirus that can lead to vaccine development according to Health and Welfare Minister and head of Central Epidemic Command Center Chen Shih-chung.
The sample was extracted from the respiratory tract of one of the 10 patients in Taiwan according to the minister, reported by Central News Agency.

Taiwan is now the fourth country worldwide to successfully extract and isolate the virus next to China, Japan and Australia.
The sample will be use to produce a lab version of the virus, with that version researchers can analyze how it intect humans according to Liu Chia-chyi, a researcher at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology.
