Taiwan protested its inclusion in the temporary travel ban as precaution against the spread of the COVID-19 that also cover mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan chairman Angelito Banayo is against the travel ban given to Taiwan citing "One-China Policy."
"Dun sila galit na galit (Taiwan government) sa invocation of the One-China policy," Banayo said.
"Ito po yung sa possible retaliatory measures. Imagine kung hindi nai-renew ang kanilang work contracts (OFW contracts) or ipagbawal ‘yung factories dito ay magbawas ng Pilipino… those are possible retaliatory measures,” Banayo said.
The possibility that Taiwan might revoke the visa-free entry granted to Filipinos and a slowdown on investments and trade into the Philippines.
Taiwan has 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections and that most of the patients are recovering, less than other Philippines neighboring country.
