Starting February 10, Taiwan to quaratine all travelers for 14 days who have transited through China, Hong Kong or Macau upon arrival, aanounced by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung announced the new policy at a press conference, Central News Agency reported.
The country tightened restrictions to travelers which previously only applied to passengers who had traveled in those regions, but now it include all who just transited.
The new policy came after CECC announced its last 5 confirmed cases who transited through Hong Kong and Macau, Taiwan's confirmed cases of novel coronavirus are now at 16.
Individuals who violate the terms of their home isolation or quarantine can face penalties.
