DOH top chief Francisco Duque III under quarantine after having contact with COVID-19 patient
Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III said on Thursday he is on self-quarantine Duque said he has undergone testing although he has shown no signs of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and is expecting results in two to three days.
In a message to reporters, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Duque is asymptomatic but has been tested for possible COVID-19 infection because he is “asthmatic and hypertensive.”
“Offices within the DOH have been disinfected and close contacts of the official immediately informed and advised to undergo home quarantine,” the Health department said in a statement last Wednesday.
To prevent the further spread of COVID-19, the national government has implemented a Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, barring non-essential travels of citizens and suspending public transport.
