Migrant workers with re-entry permits can still enter Taiwan subject with 14-day quarantine

Taiwan has restricted the entry of foreign nationals in the country, the entry ban does not effect migrant workers who are currently overseas and have re-entry permits.

However, all returning migrant workers will have to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their return to Taiwan with monitoring from the government.

The MOL is encouraging employers to renew the contracts of migrant employees already in Taiwan, instead of importing new workers amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Taiwan placed all foreign countries and territories under its highest Level 3 travel warning starting Saturday (Mar 21), but the move became largely symbolic after a 14-day home quarantine was imposed on all inbound travelers.

As of Friday, Taiwan had confirmed 135 cases of the coronavirus disease, of which 102 were imported, with two fatalities.
