Philippines counts 68 total deaths due to COVID-19 on top of 1,075 confirmed cases
The Department of Health said that 14 more patients died of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), raising the death toll to 68 while the total confirmed cases are at 1,075.
Most of the fatalities are elderly patients which came from Metro Manila, five of the deaths are from Quezon City, two from the City of Manila, one each from the cities of Pasig, San Juan, Caloocan, Parañaque, Taguig, and one from Bulacan province.
Almost all of the patients have no recent travel history abroad, except for three whose travel details are unknown.
DOH previously reported recoveries among elderly patients as well, although they are at higher risk for complications from COVID-19.
The enhanced community quarantine in Luzon will be until April 12, and Metro Manila until April 14, unless extended or ended earlier depending on the situation.
