Taiwan confirmed 26 new COVID-19 patients, total cases rise to 195
A total of 26 new coronavirus cases, were confirmed in Taiwan on Monday, bringing the total number to 195 since the outbreak began, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said.
Health Minister and CECC head Chen Shih-chung announced that all but one of the day's 26 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were imported, The 25 imported cases included 13 women and 12 men, ranging in age from five to over 70.
Chen said that the date of entry for the new cases ranged between March 15 and March 21 and dates for the onset of symptoms ranged between Feb. 22 and March 21.
Out of Taiwan's 195 confirmed cases of the disease, 158 are imported, while only 37 are domestic. Thus far, two have perished from the disease, while 29 have been released from hospital isolation, according to Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
