Tsai also thanked several religious organizations in Taiwan for their decisions to postpone large events or to instead livestream services due to the outbreak.
On January 11, Tsai was re-elected to a second and final four-year term with a record 8.17 million votes or 57.1 percent. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for May 20 but temporarily suspended.
Currently, Taiwan has listed 40 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus where 9 are fully recovered.
