A 95-year-old grandpa from Mandaluyong City in Metro Manila recovered from the coronavirus disease, which has proven to be more fatal among the elderly.
The news was announced in a Facebook post by mayor Menchie Abalos on Easter Sunday, recovered patient Cresencio Junio can be seen leaving the Mandaluyong City Medical Center while holding a paper which read "I'm a 95 y/o COVID survivor!"

Mayor Abalos wrote:
"Maligayang pasko ng pagkabuhay, isang Pagasa ang ibinigay sa atin ni lolo Cresencio Junio na isang 95yrs old na naka-recover sa COVID-19. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga doctors, nurses at sa lahat ng frontliners ng Mandaluyong city medical center (MCMC). Simbolo ka lolo ng liwanag na nadadanasan natin ngayon. Ang importante ang pagkakaisa at pananampalataya sa Diyos."
The patient was sent off with a round of applause from the medical and local government staff as he exited the hospital.
