The number of Filipinos infected with coronavirus abroad reached 517, out of those 43 died according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
DFA on Saturday announced additional 51 confirmed cases that bring the total cases to 517 and 22 more fatalities making it a total of 43 due to COVID-19.
The DFA said most of these cases – 215 – were reported in the Asia Pacific region, 182 in Europe, 68 in the US, and 52 in the Middle East and Africa.
Meanwhile there are total of 131 Filipinos abroad have recovered from COVID-19.
Worldwide, COVID-19 has killed more than 59,000 people, mostly in Italy, although the outbreak began in Wuhan, China in December 2019. More than 1.1 million people have been infected, according to the Johns Hopkins University's COVID-19 global tracker.
In the Philippines, 3,094 people have contracted coronavirus, with 144 deaths and 57 recoveries.
