Pregnant nurse is 1st COVID-19 patient in Kidapawan City
According to local and health officials said on Wednesday, a pregnant nurse from Abu Dhabi has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the first COVID-19 case in Kidapawan City and the second in Cotabato province.
According to Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista the nurse had worked in a hospital in the city and traveled to Abu Dhabi late last March to meet her husband who was an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
The woman is the second COVID-19 patient in Cotabato province after a 45-year old man from Midsayap town earlier tested positive for the disease. Patient 3272 (PH3272) belonged to a cluster of cases from a cockfighting derby in Matina Gallera last month.
Manager of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 Dr. Philbert Malaluan said the patient PH 3671 has "co-morbidity" as she is pregnant.
Malaluan, citing data, said PH 3671 was exposed to her husband who earlier tested positive of the virus. The husband is still asymptomatic.
