Duterte: Easing restriction rules doesn’t mean there is no COVID-19 threat

President Rodrigo Duterte said easing lockdown restrictions doesn’t mean that the COVID-19 threat in the country is gone and everyone must continue to be aware.

Duterte appealed to the people to continue to wear face masks when going out and observe social distancing rules even as the government relaxes some movement restriction in their localities.

“Ganito ha for those who would be allowed to go out and work and for those na hindi pa talaga puwede, remember na itong ‘pag…the easing up of the restrictions hindi iyan sabihin na wala na ang COVID,” Duterte said.

“Dahan-dahan lang sa ngayon para walang ano… hindi tayo madapa. Dahan-dahan lang. Because we cannot afford… we cannot afford a second or third wave na mangyari,” he added.

Province of Laguna, Cebu City and Metro Manila now will start for rules under modified enhanced community quarantine. Several places will ne under the general community quarantine.

“According to WHO, any plans to ease quarantine restriction should be carried out gradually and  in a phase manner—parang ‘yung hinay-hinay lang po—to prevent resurgence of infections,” said Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer.
