McDonald's partners with Watson's, amba hotels to give discounts in Taiwan
To lure customers spend money amid the coronavirus pandemic, the American fast food chain McDonald's said on Wednesday (May 27), that it has fused with health care and beauty care chain Watsons and boutique hotel chain amba, to offer discounts amounting to more than NT$5,000 (US$167).
About 2.5 million coupon booklets, with a combined value of NT$5,300 each and valid until June 3-30, will be provided to customers at the fast food chain and Watsons around Taiwan from Thursday to Sunday, said McDonald's in a statement.
McDonald's added that the coupons have an inclusion of NT$200 of discounts at McDonald's, NT$100 at Watsons and NT$5,000 at amba, of which NT$2,000 can be used in the hotel chain's restaurants and NT$3,000 on room bookings.
Coupon holders who will be visiting the outlets of the fast-food chain will receive NT$10 discount for every purchase of NT$100 at breakfast time, NT$20 discount for NT$200 and NT$40 discount for NT$400 purchases on the rest of the day.
However, McDonald's said, the coupons will only be valid for cash transaction and cannot be used on food delivery services and self-help digital order machines. Additionally, outlets in some department stores, shopping malls and special locations will not join the said promotion.
