Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Tuesday (May 12) announced no new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) to report, the country has 30 straight days without reporting a single local transmission.
The total number of Taiwan's confirmed COVID-19 cases remains at 440. Taiwan has continued to show promising results amid pandemic as It relaxes some of its social distancing measure.
According to Premier Su Tseng-chang the island nation is only steps away from a return to normalcy as the curve already flattened.
Additionaly, Taiwan has a higher recovery rate of 83 percent for its COVID-19 patients, compared to the global average of 34 percent.
