Tour groups to Taiwan are still ban until July 31: Tourism Bureau
Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation’s Tourism Bureau announced on Friday (June 19), the ban on inbound and outbound tour groups will remain until July 31, even if countries have started discussing travel bubbles as the coronavirus pandemic slows down.
The Bureau said, the extension on the ban, which was first implemented on March 19, was important to prevent new virus infections in the country, CNA reported.
It added, that the decision will be changed if there will be development on the situation brought about by the pandemic. For the meantime, the ministry is asking the travel agencies to be lenient for customers asking for a cancellation of their travel reservations.
Several countries, like Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and New Zealand, have recently discussed the possibility of travel bubbles, but so far, no decision has been made involving Taiwan.
Recently, the country have recorded new imported cases after three Taiwanese citizens coming from Bangladesh have tested positive for coronavirus.
