Philippines' COVID-19 cases rose to 70,764 with 1,951 new infections
The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Tuesday (July 21), that 1,951 more COVID-19 infections have been recorded in the Philippines bringing the total number of cases to 70,764.
With the most recent tally posted by the DOH, 1,348 were fresh cases or newly validated while 603 were reported late.
Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries have reached 23,281 after 209 more patients recovered from the disease while the death toll rose to 1,837 with two new fatalities.
The DOH report also showed that as of today, there are 45,646 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine. Of the said number, 91.1 percent are mild, 8 percent are asymptomatic, 0.4 percent are severe, and 0.5 percent are in critical condition.
The DOH explained that the available data on Tuesday, came from 73 out of 89 operational laboratories across the country.
