A technical exchange program seeking to recruit Taiwanese scientific researchers and experts who will each receive a monthly salary of approximately NT$64,000 which was announced by China's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
The priority funding areas of the "2020 Yong Taiwanese Scientists Exchange Program" include health, agro-ecology, and information technology, according to the announcement.
The program will be supervised by the MOST Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and administered by the Cross-Strait Tech and Information Exchange Center.
This was not the first Chinese attempt to entice Taiwanese talents, according to Central News Agency.
MOST said individuals who agree to participate in the program will engage in technical exchanges within six months time.
Attracting such talent from Taiwan has become a key part of an effort by China to put the industry into overdrive and reduce the country's dependence on overseas firms.
