Isang 27-year old na OFW sana ang babalik sa United Arab Emirates para magtrabaho ang nagpoisitibo sa COVID-19 ilang araw bago ang nakaschedule na flight nito.
Ang OFW ang unang case ng COVID-19 sa San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. Dumating ang OFW sa Pilipinas noong Marso ngayong taon. Hindi pa nila malaman kung saan niyo nakcontract ang virus.
“The result of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test came out only last night, July 26,” ayon kay San Jose Mayor Elmer Untaran.
10 sa mga family members ng OFW ang under quarantine pagkatapos dumalo sa despedida nito. Lahat ng mga close contact ng OFW ay under close monitoring.
“The seven others (patients exposed to the OFW) were with the patient only last night [July 26] because she was supposed to have a ‘despedida’ or farewell party,” said the town’s municipal health officer, Dr. Melba Billones.
