Chinese tech company collected personal details of people around the world
Personal details of about 2.4 million people around the world have been compiled by a Chinese tech company with reported links to the country’s military and intelligence networks.
Based on the report of Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the Zhenhua Data, a Chinese database has collected personal details like date of birth, addresses, marital status, photographs, political associations, relatives, and social media IDs of various people.
These information were gathered from Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram as well as news stories, criminal records, and corporate misdemeanors.
About 52,000 personal details of Americans, 35,000 Australians, and almost 10,000 Britons, have leaked according to the report of The Guardian.
They include politicians, such as prime ministers Boris Johnson and Scott Morrison and their relatives, the royal family, celebrities and military figures.
