North Korean authorities issued shoot-to-kill orders to prevent the spread of coronavirus
Commander of US forces in the South said that North Korean authorities have issued a strict shoot-to-kill orders to prevent the spread pf coronavirus of to prevent it from entering the country from China.
North Korea has not confirmed a single case of the disease that has swept the world since first emerging in China.
“They’ve got North Korean SOF (Special Operations Forces) out there. … Strike forces, they’ve got shoot-to-kill orders in place," according to US Forces Korea (USFK) commander Robert Abrams.
“The regime right now –- the military -– is focused principally on getting their country recovered and to help mitigate the risk of Covid-19,” he added.
North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un has previously claimed North Korea is free of the global pandemic and said he isn’t worried about it. However, in July he backtracked and warned it “could have entered” the country.
According to Radio Free Asia, the ban applies to the 880-mile border between the two countries.
