Senator Manny Pacquiao is expected to have a boxing match with mixed martial artist Conor McGregor as members of the Filipino’s team confirmed on Saturday (September 26).
"It is confirmed the negotiation between the camp of Senator Pacquiao and McGregor is now starting to move on," said Pacquiao's assistant Jayke Joson in a statement.
However, the two camps were a “long way” from agreement as negotiations to seal that fight will have to go through Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), the outfit that has Pacquiao under contract for two more fights.
If the boxing match will push through, all the earnings of Pacquiao from the fight will be donated as part of the Philippines' COVID-19 response.
“For the sake of all the Filipino COVID-19 victims, Sen. Manny Pacquiao will be fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year. The huge portion of his earnings will proceed to those who are affected nationwide by the pandemic,” said Joson.
