The country's first ever Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) hospital would surely rise soon in San Fernando, Pampanga as the kick off ceremony marking its official start of construction was already held last November 20, 2020.
The constructing health facility located on the two-hectare land from the provincial government of Pampanga is meant to cater the health and medical needs of OFWs who are considered as today's modern heroes.
"It will render free services when OFWs are securing medical certificates covering laboratory exams and other requirements for their overseas deployment," said Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
The hospital was also made possible with the help of Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI), an entity established by the operator of Solaire Resort and Casino which donated P500 million and PAGCOR's donation of P300 million for the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment for the hospital.
According to the Labor Department, the P1.3 billion health facility is set to be completed by the end of 2021.
