The 2021 Yangmingshan Flower Festival kicked off Feb. 05 in Taipei City’s Beitou District with multiple species of cherry blossoms among the many floral attractions on offer.
The festival is a draw for anthophiles and photography enthusiasts to delight in a feast of flowers such as azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons.
Taipei’s Parks and Street Lights Office (PLSO) is encouraging members of the public to visit Yangming Park, one of the event’s venues, during the Lunar New Year holiday and Valentine's Day. The festival will last intil March 21.
Yangming Park is one of the oldest parks in the city, is planted with “plum, cherry, peach, azalea and camellia blossom, and consistently attracts throngs of people to view the cherry blossoms every spring," according to Taipei’s Department of Information and Tourism
