Doris Bigornia, a broadcast journalist, needs another procedure after her open-heart/heart bypass surgery on February 25.
Nicole Bigornia, her daughter created a crowd-funding page called #FundingDoris on GoGetFunding.com (https://gogetfunding.com/fundingdoris/).
"While we are extremely grateful to those who have helped since mommy’s admission, after having been in the hospital for more than a month, unfortunately, not enough," wrote Nicole.
She wrote an update on her mother's medical condition. "Fortunately, her open-heart/heart bypass surgery last February 25 was a success. She has been transferred from the intensive care unit to the cardiac telemetry of the hospital where she is continuously monitored, and undergoing recovery and cardiac rehab. She has expressed pain due to the pigtail catheters on both sides which have been inserted since she was rushed to the emergency room or ER . This has led to difficulty in breathing and a hindrance to her physical therapy and cardiac rehab," she wrote.
Doris has been diagnosed with diabetes and is taking insulin. The other day, she still has dialysis.
"She would need a pacemaker to monitor and regulate her heartbeat as of March 23, after consulting with her physicians. As a result, she'll have to have another procedure to fix it "Nicole wrote an essay.
She then made a public request for some financial help for her mother's upcoming surgery.
"We never would have thought that we would be in this situation; more so, helpless and humble in asking for everyone's help financially. We would also like to thank everyone who has been continuously praying for mommy and to those who have helped in their own way," she said.
She addressed her letter to her mother, whom she described as a "source of strength and hope" for their family.
Nicole signed the letter with her full name, Nicole Marie B. Sungalon, and provided her bank account information because her PayPal account was having issues.
