The refusal to follow basic health protocols was one of the causes of the COVID-19 outbreak among Manila police officers, according to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras."
According to the report, MPD has 75 active COVID-19 cases, mainly from the Meisic police station in Binondo, with 59 viral infections. The police station has been placed on lockdown.
Non-compliant cops will be warned after the first offense. They will face appropriate charges for the second offense.
“We're the ones implementing these rules. We should be compliant with health protocols.,” said Police Colonel Nick Salvador, MPD Deputy Director for Administration in the report.
