There would only be lockdowns in Taiwan if there were at least 100 new infections per day for 14 consecutive days said Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
Taiwan already declared a Level 3 alert for Taipei City and New Taipei City, but full lockdowns will only take place under Level 4 according to CECC chief Chen Shih-chung.
Members of the public are only allowed to leave home to buy food, to seek medical care and for work needs under a level 4 alert.
Even when at home, masking and social distancing must be practiced. Only designated persons may enter or leave these lockdown zones, and residents must stay in their homes for level 4 alert
New cases were scattered across eight cities and counties, with Taipei and New Taipei remaining hot spots for the disease according to the health minister.
