King Yuan Electronics Corporation (KYEC) reported yesterday (June 1) that two Filipino migrant workers test positive of COVID-19, adding 12 more today (June 2).
The cases are all roommates in the same workplace or dormitory of the person who was diagnosed of the virus, including two Taiwanese.
In this group, 227 people were screened and 26 were initially positive. This is a case of clusters of migrant workers in dormitories.
Miaoli County government stated that it has immediately requested the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) to assist in the establishment of a task force to initiate follow-up prevention and control actions.
The county gobernment launched a company-wide quick screening on the 3rd, and it is expected to screen 7,300 people.
