If she wins the 2022 presidential race, Vice President Leni Robredo targets to provide P216 billion worth of aid to families affected by the pandemic in the first 100 days of her tenure.
Robredo plans to take the "ayuda" funds from the national budget for the affected families.
“In our first 100 days, we will focus on addressing our most urgent problem—controlling the pandemic and mitigating its impact on our people’s lives,” Robredo said.
The presidential candidate said the P216-billion assistance will "protect families from hunger and provide them with their basic needs without being forced to go to work."
Robredo's statement came from a forum organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
Robredo laid out his administration’s priorities focused on responding to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Apart from cash funds, Robredo wants to strengthen the implementation of the Universal Health Care law by "concentrating on enrolling every Filipino in the UHC system."
